B1.1 module

Under internal pressure, higher stresses occur on the inside of pipe bends and lower stresses occur on the outside of bends than on straight bends with the same wall thickness. For optimum material utilisation, bends with different wall thicknesses are therefore allowed. Annex 1 of AD 2000 / B1 contains the equations for calculating the required wall thickness and the existing stress.

With module B1.1 pipe bends with different wall thicknesses can be designed. The radius of curvature can be related to the inner or outer diameter. Furthermore, bends of the same wall thickness can be verified according to DIN 2605 (3-d) and DIN 2606 (5-d). The corresponding tables are integrated into the module.

Calculation options

  • Pipe bends with specified inside diameter
  • Pipe bends with specified outside diameter

  • Pipe bends according to DIN 2605 Part 1 (reduced degree of utilisation)

  • Pipe bends according to DIN 2605 Part 2 (full utilization)
