H2SO module

The thermodynamics of the H2SO4-H2O system are required in numerous chemical and process engineering applications. Knowledge of the composition of the vapour/liquid equilibrium is the basis for the thermal design of the equipment.

Program features

The H2SO module calculates the phase equilibrium and the material properties of H2SO4-H2O systems. The following physical properties can be determined as a function of pressure, temperature and composition:

  • Density
  • Specific heat capacity
  • Dynamic viscosity
  • Kinematic viscosity
  • Thermal conductivity
  • Prandtl number
  • Thermal diffusivity
  • Surface tension
  • Coefficient of thermal expansion
  • Saturation pressure
  • Partial pressure of water and acid

The data on which it is based are determined or interpolated from data tables and can be extended with measurement data.
