Physical characteristics of water and steam

The International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS) initiates and coordinates research into the properties of water as an international joint task. The IAPWS developed a mathematical formulation of the thermodynamic properties and transport quantities suitable for industrial use.

The module calculates the following properties of water / steam / saturated steam:

  1. Density
  2. Specific isobaric and isochoric heat capacity
  3. Thermal conductivity
  4. Dynamic and kinematic viscosity
  5. Prandtl number
  6. Thermal diffusivity
  7. Specific volume
  8. Specific enthalpy
  9. Specific inner energy
  10. Specific entropy
  11. Compressibility factor
  12. Surface tension
  13. Coefficient of thermal expansion
  14. Isentropic exponent
  15. Speed of sound
  16. Dielectric constant

It covers the range of state from 0.00621 bar to 1000 bar and 0.01 °C to 2000 °C.
